American Airlines is updating its complimentary snack offerings for Main Cabin guests, with the new lineup set to debut on select flights in early October. The airline stated that the changes were developed based on customer feedback and testing, aiming to provide greater variety and choice throughout the day.
The updated menu includes sweet and savory options. Goldfish crackers will be added to the selection, described as a customer favorite particularly when served with Lavazza coffee. Additionally, Peterson’s savory and sweet snack mix will be available later in the flight. These items are intended to offer a balanced start to the day and a varied option for later in the journey.
Heather Garboden, American’s Chief Customer Officer, commented on the update, noting that small details can make a meaningful difference in the travel experience. She stated that the airline listened to customer feedback to ensure the refresh was handled correctly, combining beloved favorites with new choices to create a familiar and enjoyable experience.
This snack update is part of a broader effort by American Airlines to enhance the inflight experience. The airline recently announced premium dining enhancements, including centennial-inspired inflight menus and the addition of new California wines. American Airlines indicated that snack selections will rotate over time as the company continues to monitor customer preferences, with more choices expected in 2027.
American Airlines operates more than 6,000 daily flights to over 350 destinations in more than 60 countries. The airline is celebrating its centennial year in 2026 and serves more than 200 million customers annually.
