For Tarrant County readers, the nearest branded kids-park anchor is not on the Dallas North Tollway. It is PEPPA PIG Theme Park Dallas-Fort Worth in North Richland Hills, open since March 1, 2025, on about 14 acres at 8851 26 Boulevard beside NRH20 Family Water Park.
Merlin Entertainments operates the preschool- and toddler-focused outdoor park - rides, play areas, splash pad, shows, diner - and Fort Worth Report previewed the opening in late February 2025. FOX 4 later reported USA Today Readers' Choice Top 10 Best New Attractions recognition among 2025's new cohort.
That NRH address is the west-side family's shortest branded drive. It also sits inside a Merlin footprint that already includes indoor PEPPA PIG World of Play, LEGOLAND Discovery Center Dallas/Fort Worth, and SEA LIFE Grapevine Aquarium at Grapevine Mills. The outdoor theme park and the Grapevine indoor trio are distinct products; together they give Merlin multiple price points and weather hedges across the metro.
NRH's amenity strategy, not a one-park bet
North Richland Hills economic development has explicitly paired Peppa Pig with NRH20 through shared promotion and eventual cross-access planning, per Fort Worth Report and city economic-development messaging.
In mid-2025 the same city's family pipeline added Malibu Jack's at 8651 Airport Fwy - soft opening targeted June 16, 2025, per Business Wire, and open thereafter - marketed as Texas' largest indoor theme park at roughly 135,000-137,000 square feet under Five Star Parks & Attractions.
NRH's pitch is corridor density: outdoor preschool park, water park adjacency, and a large indoor park within the same municipal brand.
Collin County's pull from the east
The competitive pressure for west-side hotel nights and Saturday itineraries increasingly comes from Collin County. Universal Kids Resort opened July 1, 2026, in Frisco on a roughly 97-acre site with about 32 acres of park and a 300-room on-site hotel aimed at ages about 3-8.
Community Impact cited more than 4,100 construction jobs with more than 85 percent local North Texas hiring and operations staffing expected near 1,500 at opening. Dallas Morning News preview coverage put one-day passes starting at $54.99 in June 2026 and placed the park inside a "rapidly growing" North Texas family entertainment sector that already listed Peppa Pig and Six Flags Over Texas.
Frisco also keeps KidZania Dallas inside Stonebriar Centre - branded Dallas but located at 2601 Preston Rd. in Frisco since November 2019 - an indoor career-play city of about 85,000 square feet. That gives Collin County both destination-park and mall-indoor inventory without requiring a Tarrant County day trip.
Plano's holiday immersive as another east-side pulse
Paramount Products & Experiences and Egan Productions announced Aug. 20, 2026, that PAW Patrol Rescue Pups: An Immersive Experience will debut fall 2026 at 2712 N Central Expy in Plano, run through the holidays, then leave for other tour cities in early 2027. It is a limited-time retail immersive of roughly 45 minutes to an hour, not a permanent park; ticket prices were not announced.
Local coverage hubs, including CW33's Plano announcement URL, are circulating the address; the primary release remains EIN Presswire.
For Fort Worth and broader Tarrant readers, the investment read is straightforward. Merlin and NRH built a near-home preschool and indoor cluster first. Universal and KidZania then densified Frisco's Tollway and Stonebriar corridors.
