Hit by a pitch, then extra bases
Foscue had popped out and flied out against Anthony Kay before the fifth. After Jansen's two-run homer cut the deficit to 8-3, Kay hit Foscue with a pitch. Wyatt Langford walked, and Ezequiel Duran singled to left to score Foscue and make it 8-4, CBS Sports' play-by-play shows.
Hicks then inherited the sixth. Joc Pederson, hitting for Logan O'Hoppe, singled. Jansen doubled him in. Foscue's homer followed, scoring Jansen. Corey Seager struck out, and Langford singled before Bryan Hudson entered and got Brandon Nimmo on a fielder's choice.
Foscue bats second base and led off. CBS Sports' fantasy note said he typically starts against left-handers and owns a .304/.388/.588 slash line against southpaws this season. Kay, a lefty, was the starter he faced Tuesday.
In the eighth, Hagen Smith struck out Seager after Foscue doubled to left, his 10th double. Texas loaded the bases with two out in the ninth on walks to Langford, Burger, and Elias Diaz, who hit for Pederson. Grant Taylor recorded his eighth save when Cody Freeman bounced into a fielder's choice, the AP reported.

Jacob deGrom (9-9) was charged with eight runs and six hits in 3 2/3 innings, with five walks and two strikeouts. The AP wrote that deGrom had not allowed eight earned runs in a Rangers uniform before Tuesday, matching a career high.
