The win was powered by back-to-back long balls that immediately shifted the momentum before Texas starter MacKenzie Gore could settle into a rhythm.
Scoring Sequence
The game’s decisive moments arrived in the top of the first inning. Díaz launched a 372-foot homer to right field, giving Tampa Bay a 1-0 lead. Shortly after, Vilade connected on a 420-foot shot to left-center field, driving in Aranda for a 3-0 advantage. No further runs were scored by either team for the remainder of the contest.
Pitching Performances
Texas Rangers starter MacKenzie Gore took the loss after pitching seven innings. He allowed three hits and three earned runs while striking out nine batters but issued no walks. His record dropped to 6-9. Ben Peoples relieved Gore, pitching one scoreless inning with one walk and no hits allowed.
For the Rays, Ian Seymour earned the win after pitching 4 2/3 innings of hitless relief. He allowed two hits and one walk while striking out four batters, improving his record to 7-3. The Tampa Bay bullpen maintained the shutout with four scoreless innings.
Casey Legumina pitched 1 2/3 innings, allowing one hit. Garrett Cleavinger and Kevin Kelly each pitched a frame, combining for one hit, one walk, and four strikeouts. Bryan Baker closed the game with a perfect inning, earning his 29th save.
