Manaea Dominates From the Mound

In six innings of work, the right-hander allowed just three hits and two earned runs while walking two batters. His strikeout total reached nine, a significant factor in the Mets' 6-3 victory over the home Texas Rangers.

Manaea secured the win, improving his season record to 6-7, while the Rangers took the loss.

Scoring Sequence Unfolds

The game featured a back-and-forth start, with the Mets taking a 1-0 lead in the third inning when Francisco Alvarez scored on a single by Juan Soto. The Rangers answered immediately in the bottom half of the third, tying the game at 1-1 when Josh Jung’s double drove home Jansen.

Bullpen and Records

Following Manaea’s departure, the Mets bullpen maintained their lead. Nate Lavender and Dedniel Nunez each pitched a scoreless inning, striking out two batters apiece. Kodai Senga finished the game with one inning of work, also striking out two batters without allowing a hit or an earned run, earning the save and raising his total to eight.

For the Rangers, MacKenzie Gore started the game, pitching five innings and allowing one earned run on four hits while striking out two. Nathan Eovaldi took the loss, pitching one inning and allowing three earned runs on three hits. The Rangers finished the day with a record of 78-79, while the Mets are now 72-85.
