Two Lee homers lead San Francisco
Two Lee home runs helped the San Francisco Giants beat the Texas Rangers 5-1 on Tuesday, Aug. 4, 2026, at Globe Life Field. Lee homered to right center in the third inning and again to right center in the eighth, then added a sacrifice fly in the ninth.
Logan Webb earned the win for San Francisco, working 6.0 scoreless innings with five hits, one walk and eight strikeouts. He improved to 7-7.
Giants build an early lead
San Francisco went ahead in the top of the second. Gilbert singled to right, and Susac scored on a fielding error by right fielder Nimmo as Gilbert moved to third. Basabe followed with a sacrifice fly to right that brought in Gilbert for a 2-0 lead.
Lee made it 3-0 in the top of the third with a 410-foot homer to right center. His second homer, a 385-foot drive to right center in the top of the eighth, extended the lead to 4-0.
Texas scores in the ninth
The Giants added their final run in the top of the ninth when Lee hit a sacrifice fly to center, scoring McCray. Texas answered in the bottom of the ninth on Duran's 406-foot homer to left, accounting for the Rangers' only run.
Cal Quantrill took the loss for Texas, falling to 4-4. Quantrill pitched 6.0 innings, allowing four hits and one earned run with one walk and four strikeouts. Ben Peoples pitched 1.0 inning with no hits and no earned runs. Peyton Gray allowed one hit and one earned run in 1.0 inning, and Nolan Kingham allowed one hit and one earned run in 1.0 inning.
Bullpen and records
Keaton Winn recorded a hold for San Francisco after 0.2 innings with one hit, no earned runs, no walks and one strikeout. Sam Hentges also earned a hold, pitching 1.1 innings with no hits, no earned runs, one walk and one strikeout. Tristan Beck was charged with one earned run in 0.1 innings, and Reiver Sanmartin pitched 0.2 innings with no hits or earned runs.
The announced attendance was 23,736. The Rangers fell to 55-58, while the Giants improved to 48-65.
