Alvarez and Lowe Lead Offensive Surge
Yordan Alvarez reached the 30-home-run plateau for the season, while Nate Lowe recorded the first grand slam of his career, helping the Houston Astros secure a 9-3 victory over the Texas Rangers on Saturday at Globe Life Field. Alvarez’s blast marked his 31st home run of the year, establishing a new American League high. Lowe’s power display provided the decisive offensive blow in the third inning, shifting the momentum firmly in Houston’s favor.
The Astros’ lineup demonstrated significant power throughout the contest. Alvarez opened the scoring in the first inning with a 425-foot home run to center field that drove in one run. The offensive explosion continued in the third inning when Lowe launched a 400-foot home run to right field. That single swing accounted for four runs, as Alvarez, Alex Bregman, and Jose Altuve all crossed the plate. Alvarez later added another solo home run in the fourth inning, a 392-foot shot to left-center field, extending Houston’s lead to 7-0.
