The Houston Cougars have secured the commitment of Myles Rowser, an All-Big 12 safety, through the NCAA's new eligibility rules. Rowser, formerly with the Arizona State Sun Devils, became eligible for an additional season after the NCAA allowed players from the 2022 class who did not redshirt or sign a professional NFL contract to compete for a fifth year.
Rowser's collegiate career includes stints at Campbell (2022), New Mexico State (2023), and Arizona State (2024-25). He has recorded a total of 295 tackles, 8.5 tackles for loss, one sack, two interceptions, 16 passes defended, a forced fumble, and two fumble recoveries.
In the 2025 season, he played in every game for the Sun Devils, achieving a career-high of 84 tackles, along with four tackles for loss and three passes defended.
The Cougars are expected to benefit from Rowser's addition, as they already possess significant depth at the safety position. Veterans Kentrell Webb and Jordan Allen contributed 71 and 48 tackles, respectively, last season. Additionally, they have added Tulane safety Javion White, who recorded 50 tackles last season.
