Astros rally past Rangers 11-2 behind Diaz homer

Offensive Explosion

The Houston Astros offense erupted for 11 runs in a dominant performance against the Texas Rangers, securing an 11-2 victory at Daikin Park on Saturday. The win improved Houston’s record to 56-55, while Texas fell to .500 at 55-55.

The scoring began early for the home team. In the second inning, Yordan Alvarez singled to left, driving in two runs as Adolis Garcia and Corey Seager crossed the plate. The Astros added another run in the fourth when Jose Abreu doubled and scored on a single by Alex Bregman.

Hunter Brown started for Houston, pitching 5.2 innings and allowing two earned runs on six hits. He struck out five batters and earned the win, improving his record to 3-1. Brown was supported by a strong relief effort. Enyel De Los Santos pitched 0.2 scoreless innings, followed by Bennett Sousa who retired the side in order with one strikeout over 0.2 innings.

AJ Blubaugh secured the save situation by pitching a perfect 1.0 inning with one strikeout. Bryan King closed out the game with a 1.0 inning appearance, allowing one hit and no runs.

For Texas, Nathan Eovaldi took the loss after giving up six earned runs on 10 hits over 5.0 innings. He struck out five batters but struggled with control, issuing one walk. His record fell to 10-9.

Luis Curvelo pitched 2.0 innings, allowing four earned runs and four walks while striking out two. Nicky Lopez finished the game for the Rangers, pitching 1.0 inning and allowing one earned run on four hits with one strikeout.
