Duran drives in four
Four RBIs from Duran accounted for most of Texas’ offense as the Rangers beat the San Francisco Giants 5-4 on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at Globe Life Field. Duran delivered run-scoring hits in the first, eighth and ninth innings, capped by a ground-rule double that brought in Burger for the final run.
MacKenzie Gore gave Texas six innings with three hits allowed, no earned runs, three walks and four strikeouts. The Rangers improved to 56-58 with the win.
Texas takes the first lead
Texas scored twice in the bottom of the first inning. Nimmo doubled to right, scoring Pederson and sending Seager to third for a 1-0 lead. Duran followed with a single to right that scored Seager and moved Nimmo to third, making it 2-0.
Blade Tidwell worked five innings for San Francisco, allowing six hits, two earned runs and one walk while striking out three. Jason Foley pitched one inning with no hits, no earned runs, no walks and no strikeouts.
Giants pull even before another Duran hit
San Francisco tied the game in the top of the seventh. Basabe homered to left, 377 feet, with Gilbert scoring on the play to make it 2-2. It was the only home run in the game.
Texas moved back in front in the bottom of the eighth. Duran doubled to right, scoring Langford and Seager while Nimmo advanced to third, giving the Rangers a 4-2 lead. Reiver Sanmartin allowed three hits, one earned run and one walk with one strikeout in two-thirds of an inning for the Giants.
Ninth inning decides it
The Giants tied it again in the top of the ninth when Eldridge singled to right, scoring Gilbert and McCray for a 4-4 score. In the bottom of the ninth, Duran’s ground-rule double scored Burger and moved Seager to third, ending the scoring at 5-4.
Dylan Smith took the loss for San Francisco, allowing two hits, one earned run and one walk with one strikeout in two-thirds of an inning. Jacob Latz got the win for Texas, allowing two hits, one earned run and one walk with one strikeout in one inning. San Francisco fell to 48-66. Attendance was 26,959.
