Osuna provided the decisive offensive spark for the Texas Rangers, hitting a three-run home run in the eighth inning to seal a 8-3 victory over the Los Angeles Angels. The blast, which traveled 364 feet to right field, capped a five-run eighth-inning rally that broke a tie and pulled the Rangers ahead for good. With the win, Texas improved its record to 46-45, while Los Angeles fell to 36-56.
Early Exchange and Tie
The game began with the Rangers taking an early lead. In the first inning, Soler doubled to left field, driving in Schanuel to make it 1-0. Lowe followed with a single to center, scoring Soler to extend the advantage to 2-0. However, the Angels responded in the second inning. Lopez singled to left, allowing Carter and Osuna to score, tying the game at 2-2. Lopez advanced to second base on the play.
The Rangers regained the lead in the seventh inning when Meckler singled to left, scoring Peraza to make it 3-2. But Los Angeles answered immediately. Foscue homered to left (387 feet) to tie the game at 3-3, setting the stage for the dramatic eighth inning.
The Decisive Eighth
The Rangers' offense exploded in the bottom of the eighth. Duran singled to left, scoring Smith and putting Burger on third. Foscue then singled to left, scoring Burger and advancing Duran to second.
