Osuna's Power Surge

Osuna provided the decisive offensive spark for the Texas Rangers, hitting a three-run home run in the eighth inning to seal a 8-3 victory over the Los Angeles Angels. The blast, which traveled 364 feet to right field, capped a five-run eighth-inning rally that broke a tie and pulled the Rangers ahead for good. With the win, Texas improved its record to 46-45, while Los Angeles fell to 36-56.

Early Exchange and Tie

The game began with the Rangers taking an early lead. In the first inning, Soler doubled to left field, driving in Schanuel to make it 1-0. Lowe followed with a single to center, scoring Soler to extend the advantage to 2-0. However, the Angels responded in the second inning. Lopez singled to left, allowing Carter and Osuna to score, tying the game at 2-2. Lopez advanced to second base on the play.

The Rangers regained the lead in the seventh inning when Meckler singled to left, scoring Peraza to make it 3-2. But Los Angeles answered immediately. Foscue homered to left (387 feet) to tie the game at 3-3, setting the stage for the dramatic eighth inning.

The Decisive Eighth

The Rangers' offense exploded in the bottom of the eighth. Duran singled to left, scoring Smith and putting Burger on third. Foscue then singled to left, scoring Burger and advancing Duran to second. With runners on base, Osuna delivered the game-winning three-run homer to right, making the score 8-3. The Rangers added no further runs, holding the lead to secure the victory.

Pitching Performances

Peyton Gray earned the win for Texas, pitching a scoreless eighth inning with two strikeouts. Tyler Alexander closed out the game in the ninth, allowing one hit and striking out two batters. Jacob deGrom started for the Rangers, pitching five innings, allowing two earned runs on five hits, walking two, and striking out seven. Cole Winn pitched a perfect inning, and Chris Martin allowed one earned run in one inning.

For the Angels, Jose Soriano started, pitching six innings and allowing two earned runs on two hits with four strikeouts. Tayler Saucedo took the loss, pitching one inning and allowing one earned run on two hits with two strikeouts. Sam Bachman pitched 0.2 innings, allowing five earned runs on six hits. Brent Suter pitched 0.1 innings, allowing one hit and striking out one.

The game was played at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas, with an attendance of 23,816.
