As Baylor University's football team approaches its first game of the season, the projected offensive starters have been outlined after the second week of fall camp.

DJ Lagway is expected to take the helm as the starting quarterback. Coaches have praised his performance since joining the team, and Lagway has expressed comfort in the offensive system designed by coordinator Jake Spavital, which aims to maximize his speed and arm talent.

In the backfield, Dawson Pendergrass is set to be the starting running back. After missing last season, Pendergrass previously demonstrated his abilities with over 670 rushing yards and six touchdowns in 2024. His physical running style and pass-catching skills are anticipated to complement Lagway's play.

The wide receiver positions feature Louis Brown IV and Dre'lon Miller. Brown, who previously played for Colorado State and San Diego State, is expected to be the primary target, while Miller, a former Colorado Buffalo, brings versatility and potential as a hybrid threat.

Gavin Freeman, a transfer from Oklahoma State, is projected to fill the slot receiver role. His quickness and speed make him a valuable asset for short routes and potential special teams play.

At tight end, Tony Livingston joins from Florida, where he had a solid performance last season. He is recognized for both his blocking and receiving capabilities, providing familiarity for Lagway in the new roster.

The offensive line will consist of several new faces, including Logan Moore at left tackle, Nate Kibble at left guard, Koltin Sieracki as center, and Asher Hale at right guard. Moore is a transfer from UAB, Kibble comes from Texas, Sieracki is a returning player, and Hale previously played at South Alabama, contributing to a strong rushing offense.

Further details regarding the team's performance and any additional roster changes are not yet clear.
