The Houston Texans experienced a strong joint practice against the Las Vegas Raiders, but not without setbacks, as wide receivers Jayden Higgins and Jared Wayne both left the session due to injuries.

Higgins was reported to be in pain on the ground and did not return to practice, although he walked inside for evaluation under his own power. The injury occurred during the fourth team period of the practice. Head coach DeMeco Ryans stated that there was no update on Higgins at the time, as evaluations for a leg injury were ongoing.

Quarterback C.J. Stroud expressed his support for Higgins, noting that he had been performing well in recent practices. Stroud said, "He’s doing great. I think he’ll be fine, but I wish the best and hope he’s all good."

While there was no immediate information regarding Wayne's injury, his status will be monitored, particularly as he has had a strong camp. The Texans have faced multiple injuries among their wide receivers this offseason, with Jaylin Noel returning to practice while Tank Dell was absent.

Noel participated in individual drills during the joint practice, marking his return after previous injuries. In contrast, Dell's absence has raised questions, especially after Ryans mentioned that Dell was following a personal plan regarding his participation in practices and the upcoming preseason game against the Raiders.

It appears unlikely that Dell will be available for Thursday's game, leaving the Texans with limited options in their receiving corps as they prepare for the preseason.

Further details regarding the injuries to Higgins and Wayne are not yet clear.
