Ryan Flournoy, a wide receiver for the Dallas Cowboys, will not be participating in the team's upcoming preseason opener against the Seattle Seahawks. This decision was reported by Nick Harris of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.
Cowboys coach Brian Schottenheimer indicated earlier this month that he intends for the team's starters to remain inactive throughout the preseason. Despite not playing in the opener, Flournoy is expected to have ample chances to develop his rapport with quarterback Dak Prescott during training camp practices.
Flournoy is anticipated to secure the No. 3 receiver position on the Cowboys' roster. However, his playing time may be limited due to the presence of established wide receivers CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens ahead of him on the depth chart.
