The Houston Astros delivered an overwhelming offensive performance, scoring 11 runs to secure an 11-2 victory over the Texas Rangers on Saturday at Daikin Park. The win improved Houston’s record to 56-55, while the Rangers fell to .500 at 55-55.
Yainer Diaz was a central figure in the Astros' attack, hitting a home run in the seventh inning that extended the lead to 9-2. His blast to left center traveled 407 feet, adding to his production in a game where Houston’s bats were relentless. The Astros capitalized on early opportunities and never looked back, stringing together hits that repeatedly put runners in scoring position.
Scoring Breakdown
Texas Rangers took an early 3-0 lead in the second inning when Adolis Garcia drove in two runs with a single to left field. However, Houston quickly answered and began to pull away.
In the fifth inning, Alex Bregman homered to left center on a 428-foot shot, his first of the game, while Yordan Alvarez also launched a home run to left on a 395-foot trip.
The Astros added more insurance in the sixth when Josh Jung singled to right, driving in Corey Seager. In the seventh, Diaz’s homer was followed by a double from Marcus Semien that scored two more runs, making it 9-2. Paredes then singled to right, adding another run to make it 10-2.
Spence capped the scoring with a single to center in the eighth, bringing the final tally to 11-2.
