Fort Worth, Texas — FC Dallas has traded for goalkeeper Daniel, bringing the former San Jose Earthquakes starter to North Texas for the second half of the MLS campaign.

The Earthquakes receive up to $1 million in General Allocation Money: $700,000 is guaranteed, while $300,000 is tied to conditions, according to MLS and Field Level Media.

Daniel, 32, has made 86 appearances in all competitions since taking over as San Jose’s starting goalkeeper in 2023. MLS credited him with 15 clean sheets in that span. He carries a U.S. green card and will not use an international roster place.

Chief soccer officer André Zanotta said Daniel brings MLS experience and will compete within Dallas’ goalkeeper group. Michael Collodi, the club’s homegrown starter, had three shutouts through 13 appearances this season.

FC Dallas is based at Toyota Stadium in Frisco, about 45 miles northeast of Fort Worth. San Jose had signed Angus Gunn before completing the move involving Daniel.
