Textron Aviation Marks 500th CJ4 Jet Delivery

The Wichita-based manufacturer has delivered its 500th Cessna Citation CJ4 business jet to a customer in the Philippines.

Textron Aviation Inc. announced the delivery of its 500th Cessna Citation CJ4 series business jet on Monday, marking a significant production milestone for the Wichita, Kansas-based company.

The specific aircraft delivered was a Citation CJ4 Gen2 model. It was handed over to a customer located in the Philippines, highlighting the global distribution of the light jet platform.

Lannie O’Bannion, senior vice president of sales and marketing at Textron Aviation, stated that the company continues to invest in innovation and technology for the aircraft line. She noted that reaching 500 deliveries reflects customer trust in the platform's performance and efficiency.

The manufacturer is preparing to introduce the Cessna Citation CJ4 Gen3 variant. This newer model is expected to receive Federal Aviation Administration certification later this year. Flight testing for the Gen3 has already accumulated more than 880 hours across two test articles.

According to company details, the upcoming Gen3 will feature Garmin G3000 PRIME avionics and an emergency autoland system. The aircraft is designed to seat up to 11 people with a maximum range of 2,165 nautical miles and a payload capacity of 2,200 pounds.

Textron Aviation Inc. operates as a subsidiary of Textron Inc. The company manages the Beechcraft, Cessna, Hawker, and Pipistrel brands, serving customers in more than 170 countries with various aircraft types including business jets and turboprops.

Bell (Textron) employs about 4,200 people in Fort Worth, according to local government records.
