Baylor University’s football team has published its initial depth chart for the 2026 season as they prepare to face Auburn in their opening game. The depth chart was released on Monday and outlines the starting positions and backups for both the offense and defense.
On offense, DJ Lagway is listed as the starting quarterback, with Nate Bennett, Edward Griffin, and Quinn Murphy as potential backups. The running back position features Dawson Pendergrass as the starter, supported by Caden Knighten, Michael Turner, Ryelan Morris, and Jacorey Watson in various backup roles.
The receiving corps includes Louis Brown IV and either Dre'lon Miller or Jadon Porter as starters. Gavin Freeman is set to start at slot receiver, while Matthew Klopfenstein will lead at tight end. The offensive line is anchored by Logan Moore at left tackle and Kaden Sieracki at right tackle, with several backups named for each position.
Defensively, the Bears have Kyler Jordan or Jordan Mack starting at defensive end, and Devonte Tezino or Kamren Washington at defensive tackle. The nose tackle position will see either Hosea Wheeler or Jamaal Whyce Jr. starting. Key linebacker positions include Travion Barnes at MIKE and Kyland Reed at WILL.
In the secondary, Devon Jordan and LeVar Thornton Jr. are the starting cornerbacks, with Colby McCalister or Tyler Turner at free safety. The special teams unit lists Rhett Armstrong as the starting kicker and Palmer Williams as the punter.
