Bijan Robinson praised Tyler Goodson’s ability as a versatile running back after the Dallas Cowboys added the former Atlanta Falcons player to their backfield. Robinson described Goodson as an explosive player who can run, change direction and contribute as a receiver.
Goodson spent training camp with Atlanta and led the Falcons during the preseason with 92 rushing yards. He also scored on a 49-yard touchdown run. Robinson said he wished Goodson had remained with the Falcons and called him a talented player and a good person.
The Cowboys signed Goodson and waived Israel Abanikanda as they adjusted their running back group. Dallas had also moved on from Phil Mafah and Jaydon Blue, both running backs selected by the team in the 2025 draft, near the end of training camp.
Goodson spent his first three NFL seasons with the Indianapolis Colts. In that span, he carried the ball 54 times for 264 yards and one touchdown, while adding 19 catches for 103 yards and another score.
Dallas is keeping Goodson on its practice squad after Malik Davis was injured. His opportunity to play appears limited, but his speed and receiving ability give the team an additional backfield option.
