Drivers heading south on Interstate 820 in east Fort Worth face nightly closures at the US 287 interchange through Wednesday, Nov. 4, as Southeast Connector construction continues, according to the Texas Department of Transportation's closure list for the project.
TxDOT lists these nightly impacts from Nov. 1 through Nov. 4:
- Southbound I-820 closed at the US 287 interchange.
- The ramp from southbound I-820 to eastbound I-20 closed.
- At Meadowbrook Drive, southbound I-820 drops to two lanes.
- Also at Meadowbrook, the southbound frontage road of I-820 is shut.
On I-20, eastbound traffic narrows to two lanes where it meets Business 287 overnight on Nov. 1 and Nov. 2, the list shows.
Closures in place around the clock
Some restrictions stay in effect 24 hours a day, per TxDOT. Craig Street is closed where it crosses I-820, with westbound traffic detoured to Meadowbrook Drive and eastbound traffic to Lancaster Avenue. The southbound I-820 frontage road is closed at Lancaster Avenue, and frontage roads throughout the project carry various lane restrictions, with at least one lane kept open unless a closure is posted.
The agency's page lists nights but not start and end hours for the overnight work, does not post a detour for the I-820 mainline or ramp closures, and warns that dates and times can shift with weather and field conditions. As of late Monday morning, it showed no Southeast Connector closures scheduled after Nov. 4.
