During the opening set of the Texas Longhorns' volleyball match against TCU, outside hitter Abby Vander Wal exited the game after sustaining a knee injury. The incident occurred during a scramble on the left side of the court, where the sophomore fell and remained down for the remainder of the point, visibly clutching her knee.
Vander Wal was assisted off the court by the training staff, as she was unable to put weight on her leg. She did not return to the match, which Texas ultimately won by sweeping TCU. Prior to her exit, Vander Wal contributed two kills and her topspin serve helped initiate two scoring runs for the Longhorns.
The situation regarding Vander Wal's injury is still developing, and further updates have not yet been provided.
