The Texas Department of Public Safety has named Alejandro Villegas, 32, of Fort Worth, as the state’s July Featured Fugitive. The designation comes with an increased reward of $6,000 for any information that leads to his arrest, provided the tip is submitted during the month of July.
Villegas has been wanted in Tarrant County since January 2026 for a probation violation linked to an original charge of sexual assault of a child. Additionally, the Fort Worth Police Department issued a warrant for his arrest in March 2026 for failing to comply with sex offender registration requirements.
According to state records, Villegas was previously arrested by the Arlington Police Department in 2017 for robbery. He was subsequently sentenced to 36 months of probation. In 2022, the Grand Prairie Police Department arrested him again following an incident involving a 16-year-old girl. He was convicted of sexual assault of a child and received 96 months of probation.
State officials describe Villegas as standing 6 feet tall and weighing approximately 185 pounds. He has known ties to Fort Worth, Arlington, and Dallas.
Texas Crime Stoppers, which is funded by the Governor’s Public Safety Office, provides cash rewards for tips leading to the arrest of individuals listed on the Texas 10 Most Wanted Fugitives, Sex Offenders, or Criminal Illegal Immigrants lists. So far in 2026, DPS and other agencies have arrested 44 people from these lists, including 32 sex offenders and eight gang members. During this period, $61,500 in rewards has been paid out for tips that resulted in arrests.
