Six Flags Over Texas has introduced Tormenta Rampaging Run, a new dive coaster that has secured six world records upon its debut. The attraction, located in the park's Spain section, features a 309-foot-tall structure, making it the tallest dive coaster in the world. It also holds the title for the highest 95-degree beyond vertical drop at 285 feet and the fastest dive coaster, reaching speeds of 87 mph.

The ride’s track spans 4,199 feet, marking it as the longest of its kind. Additional records include the highest Immelmann Inversion at 218 feet and the tallest vertical coaster loop at 179 feet. The Immelmann Inversion requires the train to flip on its axis and turn away from its original direction, a maneuver named after a World War I fighter pilot technique.

To accommodate the massive structure, the park demolished three previous attractions: Conquistador, La Víbora, and El Diablo. Beck Buxton, the park’s creative director, stated that revamping the Spain area was always part of the long-term plan. The goal is to create a fully immersive environment where visitors feel transported to the country. The design includes metallic finishes, landscaping, and stone textures intended to replicate Spanish architecture and natural settings.

Buxton noted that she visited Spain two years ago for her honeymoon and used photographs from that trip to help guide the design process. She specifically modeled the Tormenta portal after a cathedral image she captured during that visit. The park refers to these entrances as portals to signify the transition into a new fantasy environment.

Despite the demolition of older rides, some elements from the past remain. Buxton mentioned that small pieces of the retired attractions were incorporated into the new design as Easter eggs. This approach reflects the park’s 65th anniversary, balancing forward-looking development with homage to its history.

Two Fort Worth-based companies contributed to the coaster’s arrival at the Arlington location. The ride is scheduled to open in 2026. Further details regarding specific operational dates or additional technical specifications were not provided in the source material.
