A branch of Kansas City’s Peachtree Cafe has opened at 8651 John T. White Road in east Fort Worth. The establishment serves Southern dishes influenced by founder Vera Willis’ Louisiana heritage. Menu highlights include Mississippi Delta-style catfish fillets, fried chicken, and a peach cobbler spiced with cinnamon and nutmeg. Combo plates are priced between $14 and $23.
Panther City BBQ has agreed to open a second location in a historic 1913 building at 1540 N. Main St., situated three blocks south of the Fort Worth Stockyards. Co-owner Chris Magallanes aims for a winter opening in the space formerly occupied by La Playa Maya.
The Michelin-recommended smokehouse plans to preserve the building’s historic character with vaquero-themed photos while expanding its offerings to include Tex-Mex items and coastal seafood alongside existing brisket elote and barbacoa dishes.
La Tortilandia at 1112 W. Berry St. continues to operate as one of the city’s Mexican restaurants, marking nearly 35 years in business. The menu features items such as chilaquiles en salsa morita and orejas de elefante.
Kennedy noted the tender double-stacked breaded Milanesa and roughly $10 chilaquiles platters among other offerings like huaraches, molletes, fish tacos, and oyster-bar dishes at this remaining Dorado family location.
