The Fort Worth Stockyards has become a popular destination for international soccer fans attending the World Cup, offering a distinct taste of regional heritage. Visitors traveling from abroad have flocked to the historic district to observe traditional activities, particularly the twice-daily cattle drive, which many describe as a cinematic experience.
Clauvio Varela, a supporter from Argentina, expressed his appreciation for the location. He noted that the area captures the essence of rural life and the cowboy lifestyle. Daniel Scharbel, a fan from Austria visiting Texas for the first time, described the longhorn cattle as impressive. He remarked that such animals are not found in his home country and that the experience matched information he had previously seen in films.
The district serves as a gathering point for supporters from various nations between matches. Case, a resident of Chicago originally from Japan, visited the area with his daughter. He described the atmosphere as distinctly Texan and expressed enthusiasm for local landmarks, specifically mentioning the convenience store chain Buc-ee’s.
Local employees have noted the engagement of these visitors. Lindsey Perales, who works at Will Leather Goods near the cattle drive, said she finds it entertaining to interact with tourists who have many questions about the area. On the day of the report, she was creating custom leather tags to serve as keepsakes for out-of-town guests and their families.
Scharbel praised the hospitality of the region. He stated that people in the United States, and particularly in Texas, are friendly. He added that fans enjoy being in the country and view the U.S. as a great host for the tournament.
