Construction began on August 24 for safety improvements at the intersection of North Beach Street and the Trinity Railway Express crossing. The project, valued at $1.1 million, is funded through a combination of voter-approved bonds from the city’s 2018 program and federal allocations.
The Fain Group LLC serves as the contractor for the work, which is scheduled for completion in late January or early February 2027.
The scope of the project includes the installation of new medians, paving, sidewalks, curb ramps, lighting, signage, rail pedestrian crossings, and striping. According to city staff and contracting crew members, the work will extend approximately 300 feet north and south of the rail crossing to accommodate planned sidewalk extensions. These details were shared with attendees at a public preconstruction meeting held on August 18.
Paul Clutts, the Fort Worth project manager, informed the public that the city mailed notifications to surrounding residents and other stakeholders regarding the upcoming construction. Additionally, crews have posted construction signage in the area. City staff indicated that they expect the construction teams to clean up the site on a daily basis.
