Alejandro Villegas, a registered sex offender residing in Fort Worth, has been added to the Texas Department of Public Safety’s most wanted list. The agency announced the placement following a news release detailing his status as a fugitive wanted for probation violations.
The reward for information leading to Villegas’ arrest has been increased to $6,000 for the month of July. Texas Crime Stoppers, which is funded by the Governor’s Public Safety Office, provides these cash rewards to individuals who submit tips resulting in the arrest of fugitives, sex offenders, or criminal illegal immigrants on the state’s top ten lists.
Villegas, 32, has been sought by Tarrant County authorities since January. His current warrant stems from a probation violation that originated from earlier charges of sexually assaulting a child. In March, the Fort Worth Police Department issued a separate warrant after Villegas failed to comply with sex offender registration requirements.
Authorities describe Villegas as approximately 6 feet tall and weighing around 185 pounds. He is known to have connections to Fort Worth, Arlington, and Dallas.
Villegas has a prior criminal history in the region. Arlington police arrested him in 2017 on robbery charges, resulting in a 36-month probation sentence. In 2022, Grand Prairie police arrested him for the sexual assault of a 16-year-old. He was convicted of that offense and sentenced to 96 months of probation.
