Fort Worth police officers dismantled an unauthorized fireworks distribution site on July 3, seizing a significant amount of pyrotechnic material. The operation took place at a residence located on the intersection of East Barry and Donalee streets.
Investigators traced the location after receiving tips regarding advertisements for fireworks on social media platforms. Upon arriving at the address, officers worked alongside members of the Fort Worth Fire Department’s Bomb and Arson unit to secure the area and confiscate the items.
The seized materials were reportedly intended for unauthorized sale and distribution within the city limits. Authorities described the items as illegal fireworks that violate local ordinances.
In a statement released via social media, the police department emphasized the dangers associated with such activities. Officials noted that illegal fireworks create risks for neighborhoods, first responders, and private property. The department stated it would continue to enforce city codes and pursue accountability for those who violate the rules.
Under Fort Worth city code, setting off fireworks within municipal boundaries is prohibited. Violations can lead to fines reaching $2,000. The department issued a reminder to residents regarding these restrictions, urging the public to avoid lighting fuses on unauthorized devices.
