Customers and staff evacuated the H-E-B Alliance grocery store in north Fort Worth on Thursday evening after an electrical fire broke out inside the building. The incident led to the temporary shutdown of the location while officials assessed the situation.
The Fort Worth Fire Department arrived at the store, located at 3451 Heritage Trace Parkway, around 8 p.m. to address the blaze. Firefighters managed to bring the fire under control approximately 45 minutes after their arrival. Authorities confirmed that there were no immediate reports of injuries among the customers or employees who were evacuated.
Mabrie Jackson, the managing director of public affairs for H-E-B, stated that the fire was isolated to an electrical issue within a meat case. The specific cause of the electrical failure was not detailed in the initial reports.
The supermarket remained closed following the incident as the company conducted damage assessments and cleanup operations. At the time of the report, no timeline for reopening the store was available.
The 117,000-square-foot facility opened in April 2024 and marked H-E-B's first location in Fort Worth. The full extent of the damage to the store was not immediately known.
