Health inspection records from Fort Worth reveal significant pest issues and food safety violations at several local restaurants during a recent two-week period. The data, compiled from 134 inspections conducted between June 7 and June 20, highlights problems ranging from rodent debris to heavy fly activity.
The city utilizes a demerit system to score establishments, with zero representing a perfect rating. Facilities that accumulate more than 30 demerits must immediately address critical violations and begin corrective procedures for all other issues within 48 hours.
Rodent contamination was identified at Caleto Bar & Grill, located at 3468 Blue Bonnet Circle. Inspectors found rodent debris in the kitchen area and noted cheese stored in proximity to the contamination. The establishment received a score of 23.
Three other locations were cited for cockroach issues. At Acapulco Restaurant, situated at 1320 NW 25th St., inspectors observed a live roach alongside heavy fly activity, resulting in a score of 20. Birrieria Tres Coronas, at 50 E. Seminary Drive, had a dead cockroach found in the corner of its walk-in cooler, earning a score of 19. Bonnell’s Fine Texas Cuisine, located at 4259 Bryant Irvin Road, also had a dead roach discovered near its back door.
Other violations included temperature control failures and cross-contamination risks. Dos Molina’s, at 404 NW 25th St., received a score of 23 after inspectors found raw beef stored above cooked chicken. The facility also had sanitizer concentration issues and stored tomatoes, cheese, cooked chicken, and beef at temperatures between 48 and 51 degrees.
