Firefighters have contained a multi-alarm blaze that erupted at an H-E-B location in Fort Worth on Thursday afternoon. The incident occurred at the store situated at 3451 Heritage Trace Parkway, which holds the distinction of being the first H-E-B to open in the city.
H-E-B officials stated that the fire was isolated to an electrical malfunction within a meat display case. The company confirmed that no injuries were reported among customers or staff. The store remains closed while management assesses the situation and determines when operations can resume.
The Fort Worth Fire Department announced at 8:30 p.m. that the immediate threat had been neutralized. Craig Trojacek, a public information officer for the department, noted that crews were focused on mitigating smoke remaining inside the building. To assist with ventilation, a large fan was deployed from DFW Airport to help clear the air.
Emergency response efforts included assistance from neighboring agencies. Firefighters from Saginaw and Haslet were observed on scene supporting the primary Fort Worth units.
