The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office has confirmed the identity of the individual whose remains were located within an abandoned energy facility in Fort Worth. Online records indicate that the decedent is Adam McClure White, a 39-year-old man who had been reported missing to local law enforcement in June.

White was last seen in the 400 block of West Belknap Street, a location situated approximately half a mile from the site where his body was eventually recovered. The discovery was made on August 19 by two teenagers who were exploring the structure in the 400 block of North Main Street.

The individuals found White inside a pipe, positioned roughly 10 feet down from the surface.

The property in question has been under the ownership of the Tarrant County Community College District since 2004. The district attempted to sell the site during the previous year. The facility has a history of incidents, including a fatal fall in April 2025, when a 27-year-old woman died after dropping down a 50-foot shaft near the plant.

While the medical examiner’s office has not yet released an official determination of the cause of death, a police source indicated last week that evidence suggests White fell into the pipe. Further details regarding the investigation remain pending as authorities continue their review.
