Alejandro Villegas, a registered sex offender residing in Fort Worth, has been added to the Texas Department of Public Safety’s most wanted list. The Texas Department of Public Safety announced the placement in a news release, citing a probation violation as the primary reason for his status as a fugitive.

The reward for information leading to Villegas’ arrest has been increased to $6,000 for the month of July. Texas Crime Stoppers, which is funded by the Governor’s Public Safety Office, provides these cash rewards to individuals who supply tips resulting in the arrest of individuals on the state’s top ten lists for fugitives, sex offenders, and criminal illegal immigrants.

Villegas, 32, has been sought by Tarrant County authorities since January. His current warrant stems from a probation violation linked to original charges of sexually assaulting a child. In March, the Fort Worth Police Department issued an additional warrant after Villegas failed to comply with sex offender registration requirements.

Authorities describe Villegas as approximately 6 feet tall and weighing around 185 pounds. He is known to have connections to Fort Worth, Arlington, and Dallas. His criminal history includes a 2017 arrest by Arlington police for robbery, which resulted in 36 months of probation. In 2022, Grand Prairie police arrested him for the sexual assault of a 16-year-old. He was convicted of that offense and sentenced to 96 months of probation.

Individuals with information regarding Villegas’ location are encouraged to submit anonymous tips. Tips can be filed via the Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-252-TIPS (8477), through the DPS website by selecting the fugitive’s profile, or by visiting the Texas 10 Most Wanted Facebook page and clicking the submit tip option. The current lists of wanted individuals are available on the DPS website.
