Fort Worth Animal Care and Control has introduced a new mobile initiative designed to deliver complimentary veterinary procedures directly to local neighborhoods. The program, known as the Chip & Snip service, will begin accepting appointments on July 18. Residents are able to schedule these services through the agency’s online portal.
The mobile unit will carry out spay and neuter surgeries as well as microchipping for pets. All medical procedures will be conducted by a licensed veterinarian. The city stated that the primary goal of this mobile clinic is to increase accessibility for pet owners and to support responsible animal care within the community.
City officials highlighted that this new effort builds upon recent work by the agency. Since the start of 2026, Fort Worth Animal Care and Control has completed more than 5,000 sterilization surgeries. The introduction of the mobile trailer aims to extend this reach into areas with the highest demand for such services.
Chris McAllister, the assistant director for Fort Worth Animal Care and Control, emphasized the collaborative nature of the program. He noted that the mobile unit allows the agency to partner with residents in their own communities, making essential veterinary care more convenient and available to those who need it most.
