Two Men Shot in Argument at Fort Worth Fourth of July Gathering

Fort Worth police are investigating a fatal shooting between two men who argued over a woman at a residential gathering on Wilbarger Street.

Fort Worth police responded to a fatal shooting at a Fourth of July gathering in the 5900 block of Wilbarger Street on Sunday evening. Officers arrived at the scene at 8:18 p.m. after receiving reports of a shooting.

According to the Fort Worth Police Department, investigators determined that two men at the event became involved in a dispute regarding a woman. The situation turned violent when both individuals drew firearms and exchanged gunfire.

One of the men was killed at the scene. The other man sustained injuries and was transported to a local hospital. His current medical condition has not been disclosed.

Homicide detectives have taken over the case and are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident. Authorities stated that they believe the shooting was an isolated event involving individuals who knew each other.

The identity of the deceased man has not been released. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office will issue a formal identification once next-of-kin notifications have been completed.
