The Fort Worth Fire Department executed a high-angle technical rescue operation at John Peter Smith Hospital on Saturday, retrieving an individual trapped in a construction crane. The incident began just before noon when dispatchers received a report of a person located approximately 220 feet above the ground, situated more than 22 stories up inside the crane cab.
Fire officials activated their Technical Rescue Team to manage the complex extraction. Upon arriving at the scene, emergency crews immediately provided medical care to the patient while simultaneously formulating a plan for a safe descent. The rescue team utilized a rigging system to secure the individual with ropes, allowing them to lower the person safely back to the ground.
