Customers were evacuated from an H-E-B store in Fort Worth on Thursday night after a fire broke out in the facility. The incident occurred at the Alliance location, prompting officials to close the building while they assessed the damage.
H-E-B representatives stated that the blaze was isolated to a meat freezer unit and was caused by an electrical issue. Firefighters responded to the scene, and the fire has since been brought under control. Company officials confirmed that no injuries were reported among shoppers or staff.
Mabrie Jackson, the managing director of public affairs for H-E-B, provided a statement regarding the event. She noted that the store is currently closed to the public. The company is now evaluating the situation to determine when it will be safe to reopen the location.
The Fort Worth Fire Department was contacted for further details regarding the response and investigation. As of this report, additional information from fire officials has not yet been released.
