McKinney is set to welcome LITEON Technology, a Taiwanese electronics firm, which will establish a significant AI power and infrastructure manufacturing facility. Governor Greg Abbott announced this development, highlighting an investment of approximately $919 million that is expected to create over 600 jobs throughout the project's duration.
The initial phase of the project alone involves a capital investment of $307 million and aims to generate around 500 jobs. The facility will cover more than 650,000 square feet and will serve as LITEON's North American headquarters, focusing on the design and production of power systems essential for AI data centers.
The state has supported this initiative with a $3.5 million grant from the Texas Enterprise Fund and an additional $100,000 Veteran Created Job Bonus.
Founded in 1975, LITEON has a rich history in electronics, having been the first company to list on the Taiwan stock exchange. The company has evolved to focus on AI-related technologies, with projections indicating that its AI business will account for 40 percent of revenue this year.
The new facility will be strategically located in North Texas, which is experiencing rapid growth in data center development.
This investment represents one of the largest corporate commitments in McKinney's history, marking a significant addition to the local economy. Details regarding construction and hiring timelines are yet to be disclosed.
