Jake Nimmo provided the decisive offensive spark for the Texas Rangers with a two-run single in the sixth inning, helping Texas secure a 7-6 victory over the Atlanta Braves. Nimmo drove in two runners during the pivotal frame, turning a tied game into a lead that ultimately held up. The Rangers’ victory improved their record to 50-48, while the Braves fell to 56-41.

Early Braves Surge

The game began with the Rangers taking an early 1-0 lead in the first inning when Pederson homered to right field, measuring 419 feet. However, Atlanta quickly responded in the second inning. White launched a 406-foot home run to left field, scoring Dubón to give the Braves a 2-1 advantage.

The Braves added another run when Baldwin singled to center, allowing Riley to score, making it 3-1. Albies followed with a sacrifice fly to center, scoring Jarvis and extending the Atlanta lead to 4-1.

Rangers Rally Back

The sixth inning proved to be the turning point. Carter homered to right field (356 feet), scoring Duran to tie the game at 5-5. Shortly after, Nimmo singled to center, driving in Langford and Pederson to put the Rangers ahead 7-5. Dubón added insurance in the seventh inning with a double to left, scoring Harris II for a 7-6 final margin.

Pitching Performance

MacKenzie Gore earned the win for Texas, pitching 5.2 innings and allowing five earned runs while striking out seven batters. He was supported by a strong relief effort. Robby Ahlstrom, Tyler Alexander, and Jakob Junis each pitched scoreless frames to preserve the lead. Jacob Latz recorded the save, pitching 1.1 innings without allowing a hit or run.

For Atlanta, Owen Murphy started, giving up two earned runs in 2.7 innings. Tyler Kinley took the loss after allowing three earned runs in just 0.1 innings of work. The rest of the Braves’ bullpen, including Dylan Dodd, JR Ritchie, Dylan Lee, Danny Young, Didier Fuentes, and Raisel Iglesias, combined to keep the game within reach until the final out.
