TCU’s women left Arkansas with a split Saturday and a clear highlight in the pool: a sweep of the first three places in the 500-yard freestyle. The Horned Frogs defeated Drury 195–102 while losing to the host Razorbacks 196–98 in Fayetteville.

The women-only meet gave the Fort Worth program two different measures of its early-season form. TCU won decisively against a Drury team ranked fourth in the preseason NCAA Division II dual-meet poll, but Arkansas’ strength across the event list kept the Horned Frogs well behind the host team.

TCU’s 500 freestyle victory came in 4 minutes, 58.27 seconds, with its next two finishers reaching the wall in 5:08.15 and 5:08.25. It was the only event Arkansas did not win.

The Horned Frogs also collected second-place finishes in the 200 freestyle, both backstroke races, both breaststroke races and the 100 butterfly. Their 400 freestyle relay finished second in 3:28.15. On the diving boards, TCU’s best result highlighted in the school’s recap was third on the 1-meter springboard.

Arkansas reported victories in 15 of the meet’s 16 events and improved to 6–0. The Razorbacks won both relays, finishing the 200 medley relay in 1:39.95 and the 400 freestyle relay in 3:25.41. They also defeated Drury 209–83.

Saturday followed an encouraging opening weekend for the Horned Frogs. Their women beat Incarnate Word 203.50–91.50 on Sept. 26 after participating in a different-format meet with Texas A&M the previous day. That A&M event combined athletes from both schools on drafted teams, so it should not be read as a conventional school-against-school dual result.

TCU’s schedule now turns west to the USC Invite in Los Angeles on Oct. 8–9. The next listed home meet is a women’s matchup with SMU in Fort Worth on Friday, Oct. 30, at 6 p.m.

Analysis: The distance sweep and repeated runner-up finishes identify where TCU was competitive Saturday. The next step is converting more of those positions into wins. Arkansas’ near-complete sweep of the events left little space to recover points, even with TCU’s strong showing in the 500.
