TCU’s volleyball winning streak reached 10 matches Friday with a 25–17, 20–25, 25–17, 25–20 victory over No. 24 Colorado at Schollmaier Arena.

The ninth-ranked Horned Frogs improved to 12–2 overall and 3–0 in the Big 12. According to TCU Athletics, only a 15-match streak spanning 2010 and 2011 lasted longer.

Net defense drove the result. TCU recorded 15.5 blocks to Colorado’s seven and held the Buffaloes to .114 hitting. Colorado committed 27 attack errors; TCU had 16.

After Colorado won the second set, TCU broke an 11–11 tie in the third with five consecutive points. The Frogs then answered a 5–2 fourth-set deficit with six straight points.

TCU hosts UCF at 2 p.m. Central Sunday, Oct. 4.

Analysis

Colorado arrived as the Big 12’s leading blocking team, but TCU controlled the net Friday. That advantage helped the Frogs recover after the match became level, adding substance to their unbeaten conference start.
