The Houston Texans have finalized their 53-man roster for the upcoming season, which includes undrafted rookie defensive end Sabastian Harsh. Initially, Harsh faced long odds to make the team, but his dedication and performance during the preseason earned him a spot.

Harsh expressed his anxiety while waiting for the roster announcement, sharing his experience on Texans radio. He recalled, "I talked to my mom, and my dad and I was just kind of waiting for a phone call... Then I seen the roster get released, and I was like, Oh my gosh. Like, that is pretty cool, man."

Despite missing the first preseason game due to injury, Harsh made a significant impact in the second game against the Carolina Panthers. He recorded three tackles, one sack, one tackle for loss, two quarterback hits, and one pass breakup, showcasing his ability to disrupt both the passing and running game.

Head coach DeMeco Ryans noted that Harsh's skills as both a pass rusher and run defender contributed to his selection for the roster. Harsh acknowledged the achievement but emphasized that he still has much work ahead, stating, "Even still now, like, I haven't done it yet. So, still got a lot more work to do."

As he prepares for the regular season, Harsh will have the opportunity to learn from experienced teammates like edge rushers Will Anderson Jr. and Danielle Hunter. His performance will be closely watched as he aims to make a meaningful contribution to the Texans' defense in the 2026 season.
