The Houston Texans have announced a series of roster changes as they prepare for their Week 1 game against the Buffalo Bills at Reliant Stadium on September 13.
The team has waived 22 players, including Dominic Bailey (defensive tackle), Lewis Bond (wide receiver), and Brandon Codrington (cornerback). Other notable names among those waived are Jamal Hill (linebacker), Jawhar Jordan (running back), and Zay Jones (wide receiver).
Additionally, the Texans have released several players, such as Bryce Hall (cornerback), Caleb Johnson (linebacker), and Brevin Jordan (tight end). The list also includes veterans like Sterling Shepard and Justin Watson.
In a trade move, the Texans have agreed to send Jarrett Patterson (center/guard) to the San Francisco 49ers. They also acquired Nathan Thomas (tackle) from the Dallas Cowboys.
The Texans placed Tank Dell (wide receiver) and Ja'Marcus Ingram (safety) on the Reserve/Injured (Designated for Return) list. Ali Gaye (defensive end) has been placed on the Reserve/Injured list, while E.J. Speed (linebacker) has been designated to the Reserve/Physically Unable to Perform list.
