Plans for a YMCA branch in Willow Park are temporarily halted as the Fort Worth Metro organization searches for a new chief executive. The initiative, originally announced in June 2025, was intended to utilize the former sanctuary of Willow Park Baptist Church. However, interim CEO Eddie Dobbins stated that significant new projects will wait until a permanent leader succeeds Mike Brown, who initiated the expansion last year.

Dobbins emphasized that the organization remains committed to Parker County, noting the area’s rapid population growth. He suggested that programming and services might reach the community before a permanent physical site is secured. The fundraising efforts tied to the branch are also suspended until the new CEO takes charge.

Regarding the potential church location, Dobbins described a positive relationship between the Y and the congregation, which now meets elsewhere. He indicated openness to alternative sites if the church property is sold, affirming that the organization will adapt to find a suitable location.
