Fort Worth is preparing for a busy summer of live music, with venues across the city hosting a mix of local performers, nationally recognized artists, and student showcases. The lineup features events ranging from intimate jazz sets to large-scale rock presentations.
Cynthia Acebo, a live sound engineer well-known in the local music community, will head back to The Post for her third annual birthday month celebration. This year’s performance will include a full band. The event is scheduled for 8 p.m. on July 11 at 2736 W. 6th St. Tickets are priced at $14.06.
Jazz enthusiasts can see Quamon Fowler perform at Scat Jazz Lounge on July 18. Fowler, a saxophonist who studied under the late clarinetist Alvin Batiste, is a winner of the North American Saxophone Alliance Jazz Competition. He will perform two shows that evening, one at 8 p.m. and another at 10 p.m. The venue is located at 111 W. 4th St., and admission is $18.14.
Fort Worth natives Hilary Tipps and Steve Obermiller will mark the release of their third studio album, Little Kid Heart, with a special performance. The duo, who have been collaborating since 2011, will present their Americana sound with a full band.
The concert takes place at 5 p.m. on July 19 at Southside Preservation Hall, located at 1519 Lipscomb St. Admission for the event is $22.79.
