Fort Worth is preparing for a busy summer of live music, with venues across the city hosting a mix of local performers, nationally recognized artists, and student showcases. The lineup features events ranging from intimate jazz sets to large-scale rock presentations.

Cynthia Acebo, a live sound engineer well-known in the local music community, will head back to The Post for her third annual birthday month celebration. This year’s performance will include a full band. The event is scheduled for 8 p.m. on July 11 at 2736 W. 6th St. Tickets are priced at $14.06.

Jazz enthusiasts can see Quamon Fowler perform at Scat Jazz Lounge on July 18. Fowler, a saxophonist who studied under the late clarinetist Alvin Batiste, is a winner of the North American Saxophone Alliance Jazz Competition. He will perform two shows that evening, one at 8 p.m. and another at 10 p.m. The venue is located at 111 W. 4th St., and admission is $18.14.

Fort Worth natives Hilary Tipps and Steve Obermiller will mark the release of their third studio album, Little Kid Heart, with a special performance. The duo, who have been collaborating since 2011, will present their Americana sound with a full band. The concert takes place at 5 p.m. on July 19 at Southside Preservation Hall, located at 1519 Lipscomb St. Admission for the event is $22.79.

School of Rock will also bring its national summer tour to Fort Worth, featuring top students from its academies. The School of Rock AllStars will perform classic and modern rock songs at Tulips, located at 112 St. Louis Ave. The show is set for 12:30 p.m. on July 25. Tickets cost $20.14.
