UNT Health Fort Worth assistant professor Christopher Rheams was featured Oct. 4 in Fort Worth Report’s 52 Faces of Community series for his work with medical students serving people experiencing homelessness.

The Report describes Rheams as a faculty adviser to the Street Medicine Student Coalition and says his community work led to a nomination for the series. UNT’s faculty profile lists him as an assistant professor of medical education and health systems science at the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine.

A university account published in January 2025 independently documents his mentorship of the coalition. It says students founded the organization in January 2024 and developed outreach partnerships with JPS Street Medicine and Love and Light Ministries. The coalition gives students experience working outside traditional clinical settings and learning about barriers to care.
