The North Texas Giving Day platform remains open after the 2026 campaign collected more than $76 million from 94,700 donors by midnight Sept. 17. Dallas is about 31 miles east of Fort Worth. Communities Foundation of Texas organized the 18th annual event, which directed donations to more than 3,300 nonprofits across 25 fields, such as education, health, social services, arts, environmental work and animal welfare.
The preliminary 2026 total surpassed the $74.2 million reported from 94,000 donors at the comparable point in 2025. After contributions were processed through Sept. 30, the 2025 campaign reached $78 million. Since North Texas Giving Day began in 2009, donors have contributed $788 million to nonprofits in the region. Dallas issued a proclamation naming Sept. 17, 2026, North Texas Giving Day.
Amazon, the presenting sponsor, made additional contributions to 15 participating nonprofits. Communities Foundation of Texas and its sponsors covered transaction and technology costs for gifts submitted through NorthTexasGivingDay.org, allowing each tax-deductible donation to reach its selected nonprofit in full. The foundation operates the platform year-round for cause campaigns, matching efforts, corporate group gifts and nonprofit-led fundraising.
The next event is set for Sept. 16, 2027. Local Profile reported the totals and event information.
