A Fort Worth resident shot and killed a man who was dragging a woman down the street while holding a machete, according to the Fort Worth Police Department. The incident occurred around 10:20 p.m. Sunday in the 2900 block of Ross Avenue.
Officers responded to reports of an armed individual and found a man with a gunshot wound. He was taken to a hospital where he died. Witnesses told police the man had engaged in a physical altercation with a woman and dragged her along the street. When a neighbor emerged to demand he stop, the armed man approached him, prompting the resident to fire at least one shot.
The neighbor remained at the scene for homicide detectives. No arrests have been filed, and the identities of those involved have not been released.
