Melissa Austin-Weeks has transformed her Fort Worth residence into a vibrant space that prioritizes family history and welcoming guests over current interior design trends. The home originally served as a multigenerational living arrangement, allowing Austin-Weeks and her husband to care for her aging parents. After her parents passed away, the couple reimagined the layout while preserving the sentimental value of the property.

The interior features a bold color palette inspired by sherbet, incorporating soft pinks, citrus oranges, greens, blues, and yellows. Austin-Weeks avoids strict adherence to fashion, choosing hues that bring personal joy. The entryway displays artwork of her childhood home and vintage furniture, while the dining room, painted in blush tones, doubles as a reading area when not used for entertaining.

Throughout the house, Austin-Weeks displays collected items such as seashells, postcards, and antique keys to spark conversation. Many pieces honor her mother, including bird motifs, bluebonnet artwork, and vintage mirrors. Rather than keeping these items hidden, she integrates them into daily living spaces to keep family history active and visible.
