Fort Worth police have filed murder charges against two individuals in connection with the death of 18-year-old Torrey Jaden Marshall. The charges stem from a shooting that occurred at an apartment complex in the city earlier this month.
Officers responded to a report of a shooting around 11:41 p.m. on July 14 in the 1400 block of Carol Oaks Lane. Upon arrival, they located Marshall in the parking lot with at least one gunshot wound. Emergency responders attempted to save his life, but he was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after midnight.
The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed Marshall’s identity and ruled his death a homicide. The cause of death was identified as a gunshot wound to the right thigh. Investigators have not disclosed the circumstances that led to the incident, and the homicide probe continues.
Jail records indicate that 17-year-old Gerald Chamberlain was booked into the Tarrant County Jail on July 21 on a murder charge. He is being held without bond. Chamberlain also faces a separate charge for possession of a controlled substance.
Eighteen-year-old Alonzo Reyes was also booked into the Tarrant County Jail on July 21 on a murder charge. He is being held without bond and additionally faces a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, for which he is also held without bond.
